How I got involved in design inspires a little back story. I started a business when I was 16 with Show Line European German Shepherds. In order to reach clients, I had to create my own website, take my own photography, and design a logo. That's all it took; I've been hooked on design ever since! While developing my portfolio over the years, I have found that I'm most passionate about web design and illustration. However, I love tackling any design "problem" that is pushed in my direction.
The Solution
Education for both the public and the medical community needs to bring to light the current research on tick born illnesses. Awareness of the current situation for both parties will also force insurance companies to make a change. Thus, people will be correctly diagnosed and allowed treatment.
Making it Happen
To educate the public and even the medical community, I chose several avenues to communicate. I worked on meaningful solutions to reaching out to people through handouts, a magazine article, and social media.
The Finished Campaign
I created handouts that cause a “shock factor” to raise awareness and connect people emotionally to the cause, a magazine article that shares the problem and a real-life story, and social media posts that provides general facts about the taboo regarding tick born diseases.
